Ubuntu 7.10 on Virtual PC 2007?

The same error happened to me in Vista Ultimate without having virtual pc 2007 installed. With me, it had nothing to do with virtual pc - I did have virtual pc installed a while ago (before reinstalling the Vista os) and did not have any problems with fax at that time. The fax modem is internal, in my notebook.

I understand that this Vista does not allow dual boot. I am considering upgrate to Ultimat. I have two questions: 1. When I upgrade, sould I jut pop-in the cd/dvd and let the Ultimat do the upgrade or should I wipe out the hard drive and do a clean install? 2. I also downloaded the Virtual PC.

After Vista is released, and after I buy a retail copy, what do you think about me reformatting the entire drive, installing Vista (64-bit) as the only OS, and then using either Microsoft Virtual PC, Microsoft Virtual Server, or VMWare Workstation to run older OS's? if it fits your requirements, why not?

So you really think Linux is better than Vista, do you?

You should start by reading the help file that comes with Virtual Server. A virtual machine will only have a specific set of virtualized/emulated hardware. It won't see most of the hardware installed in the host computer and neither Virtual Server nor Virtual PC support USB devices directly.
